Max E. Goossen is an Associate at Summers Levine Lipsic & Hersh, LLP (SLLH).  He started working as a law clerk at one of SLLH’s predecessor firms, Hersh Mannis LLP, in 2019 while attending law school and parlayed that successful clerkship into his now burgeoning legal career. As a law clerk, Mr. Goossen gained meaningful hands-on experience in family law, laying the foundation for his current practice. Since being admitted in November 2021, Mr. Goossen has continued to build upon that experience, advocating for clients with a strategic, results-driven approach in all aspects of family law matters.

Mr. Goossen earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California State University, Northridge, graduating cum laude and earning Dean’s List honors throughout his time there. He also represented CSUN at national Model United Nations competitions, where he received honors recognition. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School, where he was a Wildman/Schumacher Scholarship recipient, an honor awarded in recognition of academic excellence. While at Southwestern, he was a Moot Court finalist and a member of the Community Lawyering Clinic, providing pro bono legal services to CSUN students in matters involving family law and tenant law, giving him early, direct client-facing experience.

Mr. Goossen is highly active in the legal community and currently serves as President of the Beverly Hills Bar Association Barristers Section. In recognition of his professional achievements and excellence in practice, he has been identified as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers. He also provides volunteer legal work with the Harriet Buhai Center for Family Law, where he represents low-income individuals and victims of domestic violence.

When he’s not practicing, Mr. Goossen stays active by playing basketball and golf, and he enjoys watching sports, especially the Denver Nuggets.
